Computer Preparation

Sometimes the installation instructions provided with new equipment don't seem to make any sense at all. If you have just bought a new computer or a new piece of hardware and are unsure of how it all plugs together or how to load the drivers, we can help.

Computer Repair

Computers like any other equipment, despite being quite reliable, can still become faulty or troublesome. Whether it be a noisy fan, a non-reading CD-ROM drive, a corrupt hard disc or a completely non-booting p.c. we can normally resolve the problem.

Fault Diagnosis

Obviously before we can carry out any repair we need to determine the cause of the symptoms. Problems are not always a result of faulty hardware but can sometimes be caused by software issues or clashes between hardware & software. Once the cause is discovered we can advise you of the necessary action to remedy the problem.

Hardware Upgrades

Modern software is becoming more and more 'resource hungry'. By this we mean the software quite often needs a faster processor (or CPU), more hard disc space and more memory (RAM). If your machine has become 'sluggish' as a result of adding new software maybe an upgrade of these resources would be of benefit. Maybe you are just generally running out of hard disc space. Larger replacement or additional drives can be added to your system. If required we can normally transfer existing data whether it be letters, spreadsheets, images, music files, e-mails etc to the new drive.

Internet & E-mail Configuration

The Internet or the World Wide Web as it is also known is an absolute must for anyone with a computer. It is an extremely powerful information and access tool. Information is virtually limitless and access enables users to check bank balances, order shopping, buy theatre tickets, book holidays etc. E-mail is another extraordinarily useful tool allowing quick and easy communication with friends, colleagues, businesses etc. We can setup both Internet access and e-mail accounts on your machine. Transferring of e-mails from one machine to another (i.e. old machine to new machine) is also normally possible.

Virus Protection & Removal

Computer viruses are becoming more and more of a threat everyday. Their effects can vary dramatically from being extremely annoying to catastrophic i.e. completely erasing the contents of your hard disc. Erasing of the hard disc of a home computer may not be quite classed as catastrophic to some people (although it could be if it is yours and you are running a business from home). However, to a company which may lose the use of 10, 50 or even maybe 100 computers it most certainly would be. Nowadays anti-virus software is recommended for any computer, especially if you have internet or e-mail access. We can provide and install anti-virus software and in the unfortunate event of having contracted a virus we can attempt to remove/disinfect it. This however is obviously dependent on the severity and type of infection (see Support page for more information).

Web Site Design

A Web Site is the ideal way to advertise your business, club, hobby or just show off some information about you and your family. We offer a basic service which allows you to choose from a selection of site templates. Basic items may then be changed such as font type, font size, colour, picture inserts etc. Alternatively a bespoke service is offered whereby you can specify the content yourself.

Cabling Services

We provide a CAT5 (Category 5) cabling service. Wall ports, hubs, patch panels, fly leads, extension leads, cross cables and custom made cables are also available.
